SMS consent
RideTheROC text alerts
RideTheROC offers optional transactional text alerts for account verification, new in-app messages, and driver-booking activity. We do not send promotional SMS messages. Consent is optional and is not a condition of purchase or use of the community ride board.
Public opt-in workflow
How consent is collected
- 1. Verify a mobile numberThe member enters a mobile number and checks the one-time-code disclosure before RideTheROC sends a verification code.
- 2. Open notification settingsAfter verification, the member opens Account > Settings. SMS alert choices remain off until selected.
- 3. Choose alert categoriesThe member independently checks message alerts and, for driver accounts, driver-booking alerts.
- 4. Save explicit consentRideTheROC records the selected category, phone number, disclosure version, timestamp, IP address, and user agent.

Mobile information and consent
RideTheROC does not sell or share mobile information with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-message opt-in data and consent are not shared with third parties, except service providers that help deliver and operate the messaging program. Those providers may use the data only to provide those services.
